Approach
In my practice, I specialise in working with individuals who have experienced trauma from psychological abuse. My passion lies in helping individuals reclaim their sense of self-worth, rebuild their confidence, and rediscover their inner strength. Through a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I strive to create a safe space where clients can explore their experiences, process their emotions, and embark on a journey toward healing.
I am honored to walk alongside you as you navigate the path toward reclaiming your authentic self and embracing your potential.
Person-centred therapy is a non-directive approach that does not use diagnostic labels. This allows people their own pace and ability to find their own solutions.
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, a talking therapy, is a collaborative approach between a trained therapist and an individual. It aims to provide a supportive environment for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, with the goal of improving their mental health and well-being.
Psychotherapy can help individuals gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Through open dialogue and reflection, individuals can uncover underlying issues, patterns, and motivations contributing to their difficulties. Therapists provide a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can express their feelings and experiences. This emotional support can alleviate feelings of loneliness, isolation, and distress.
Psychotherapy can be particularly beneficial for individuals who have experienced trauma or adverse life events. Person-centred therapy allows clients to set their own pace and direction in the sessions. I believe this is vital when it comes to traumatic experiences especially where power imbalances have been a significant part of a person's previous relationships. I prioritise creating a collaborative environment where power dynamics are balanced. Together, we embark on a journey where I actively seek to understand your unique experience and perspective of what you have been through.
Through self-exploration and reflection, psychotherapy helps individuals develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their values, and their strengths. This increased self-awareness can lead to greater self-acceptance, confidence, and resilience.
